Since moving to Cali, my hair care routine has changed so much! I used to use a ton of heat – blow drying and/or curling it almost every day – in hopes to tame it but now I can’t even remember the last time I used any kind of heat tools on my hair and it’s been amazing! I never washed my hair everyday before but instead of blow drying & curling it a couple times a week, I’ve been able to let it air dry and boy, has that made the difference! I attribute my healthier hair to the fact that I now work from home rather than going into the office. 🙂 I was never the girl that could get out of the lake/pool/beach and just let my hair air dry & it be perfect (oh, how envious I was of those that could) but now I am!! I’m a lover of any and all things coconut so it’s a no brainer that all of my hair & body products are coconut something-based but recently I was introduced to the Umberto brand.
First product I tried out of these 3 was the repair conditioner. I haven’t colored my hair in a long time and heat isn’t so much of an issue anymore but I’m in the sun all the time, so I decided to give it a try. I used my coconut shampoo and followed it with this repair conditioner and immediately felt a difference when rinsing! I could feel that my hair was more manageable while wet and it felt so silky. As my hair dried, the silkiness stayed and I also noticed a little more shine!
Next, the lifting powder. OBSESSED! As I mentioned before, I like to stretch my hair as far as possible before having to wash it again so this product is a God-send. It soaks up any oils that end up making my hair greasy and it adds great volume! *win win* I’ve used Bumble & Bumble’s Prêt-à-Powder for a couple years now and would definitely compare this Umberto lifting powder to it. The only difference, though, is that the Umberto powder gives more volume and leaves that texture feel in the roots vs. the Bumble powder is more for soaking up the oils. If you use both, I’d recommend using the Bumble & Bumble at night before bed to soak up any oils and the Umberto in the morning/during the day to add that extra volume.
Last but not least, the dry texture spray. I think this one is my favorite of the 3! When air drying my hair, I have a natural wave to it so it ends up turning all beachy-like 🙌🏼 so this product really helps tousle it a little more and give it some volume near the roots. I think I’ve used it every day since! 😉 What I like the most about the texture spray is the fact that you don’t need any extra hairspray to hold the texture and volume in place. I’ve found that a lot of the other texture sprays I’ve tried need to be coupled with some hairspray for longer wear. I would compare the Umberto texture spray to the cult classic Orbe dry texture spray. I love the Orbe one but hey, the Umberto works almost the exact same and it’s 1/4 of the price!
Overall, 5 gold stars for sure!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
