Happy hump day! We’ve almost made it to the weekend and the best part is… it’s not just any weekend, it’s Memorial Day weekend … translated: it’s a long weekend!!! Memorial Day weekend always makes me think of hanging out with friends & family at the beach or lake or pool – pretty much anything that includes a body of water – with all-American food like hamburgers & hotdogs → aka everyone’s cheat
day! weekend! With that being said, I’ve put together a little guide for your weekend! Whether you’re taking a vaca or stay-cation, it includes everything you’d need to have a stylish Memorial Day weekend!
Obviously the most important 🙂 Here are some of my current favs I’ve rounded up! All of the current swimwear trends – one pieces, high neck, ruffles, tassels & prints – in one place! Check out these other posts (here & here) & my swimwear Pinterest board for other options!
I love a great cover-up! Whether it’s a screen tee, stolen button down from your boyfriend or husband ;), romper or kimono, they all just add a stylish element to your beach/lake/pool-side attire! I’ll get into this in a minute but transitional pieces are so nice to have when packing for a weekend getaway. The romper you wear as a coverup could be paired with your wedges & oversized clutch for a night out! Or throw on a pair of shorts over your bikini or one piece along with your kimono cover-up for an afternoon activity!
Now these are kind of a given but let’s be real… we’ve all forgotten one of these items before!
As I just mentioned a min. ago, transitional pieces are so important because they make your life 10x easier! The end goal is to have a couple different pieces and many different outfits for all occasions! You do this by packing complimentary colors & prints so you can mismatch pretty much everything in your suitcase so everything you wear looks very different! As you can see, all of these outfits (maxi dress, romper, shorts/blouse, pants/blouse) can be worn with all of the shoes (minus the pants & high lace up sandals but you see what I’m getting at!). I chose a neutral, but detailed (fringe) kimono to add as an extra layering piece if temperatures drop but it’s also light enough to wear purely for styling purposes.
Here are all of the clothing/accessory links for you!
