news + WINTER METALLICS

Happy first of December! It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the last month of 2016 … this year has literally flown by! This month is especially exciting for me not only because I love Christmas + the ability to see everyone I love in the same month but Jake comes home from his three month deployment in just 10 short days! It’s been a long & very busy three months!

This past month and a half, specifically, I’ve been reflecting on myself and really trying to dig deep into what I’m truly passionate about and how I want to shape myself as a stylist and aspiring leader in this industry. *side note, that’s why I’ve taken a small hiatus from blogging* I am passionate about styling, whether that is for editorials or production shoots, or just every day life. I love shopping for others, whether that is for a specific event, for the changing seasons or again, every day life. I love the rush when finding those perfect pieces & diamonds in the rough at designer consignments and stores like TJMaxx, Nordstrom Rack, etc. I like to dub myself as a master at finding the perfect outfit or piece for any occasion. 🙂 It brings me such joy to complete, what I call, a style challenge. I love the juxtaposition of style. I’d say, as a stylist, that is my brand. Putting the most unlikely things together and creating something beautiful, chic and stylish. Always adding that little bit of edge & elevating everyday looks. With that being said, a lot of times those pieces can’t always be purchased for the masses, which is why the atypical way of blogging just hasn’t lit a fire under me + the fact that I am, by lack of better phrase, an emotional dresser. For example, if it’s gloomy here in LA, #allblackeverything, edgy ootd & if I happen to go to a Sunday brunch in Santa Monica with the girls, hellooo For Love & Lemons lace midi dress! 💁🏼  Technically completely different styles but both still very much me. I want my style | blog | to be an inspiration to others. That could mean copying an outfit to a T, if possible, or drawing inspiration from it to create a unique look for yourself. I want to also use my blog as a place to share those unique & amazing finds with you all and if it’s a one of a kind item, I will always link some similar pieces! And lastly, on occasion, I want to use it as an outlet to share anything that I am passionate about or an experience I’ve had.

I don’t always like to follow the rules or abide by a formula. I have the biggest drive when I am told something is impossible or can’t be done. I love a challenge. I like to do things differently and challenge the status quo and I believe that is one of my biggest assets and am wanting to capitalize on that. I cannot be categorized, necessarily, as one type of stylist, nor do I want to. I am passionate about different areas of the industry so the way I see it, at least initially, why limit myself?!

So with all of that being said, I have vigorously been working on different projects {specifically a new website with a couple different styling outlets} that I can’t wait to share once they are ready and that also includes a little bit of a rebrand for myself . . so be on the look out for that in the near future! :: it’s coming … but I also have a full time job 😝
